Roulette Laser Scam Print E-mail
One of the most famous scammers to beat the roulette tables were allowed to keep their winnings. There are quite a few roulette strategies and systems that players use at roulette, but bear in mind that these on their own can´t change the basic house edge and the law of probabilities. Unless you have a system that analyses the physics of the spin and any tiny imperfections to help you forecast the outcome.

In 2004 ,a group of roulette players won more than £1m at the Ritz Casino in London´s Mayfair by using lasers: they have been informed by police they can keep their winnings.
The gang of 3 - a Hungarian woman and two Serbian men - were arrested in March but police have decided that they did not break the law.

A laser linked to a computer was allegedly used to predict numbers likely to come up on the roulette table. The Met have said the case has now been closed, with no charges brought.

The gamblers earned £1.3m thanks to the alleged "scam".  On the first night they won £100,000 and on the second took home another £1.2 million.
They allegedly used the laser to judge the speed of the ball on the wheel and hence the most likely outcome, thus increasing their odds.

The gamblers were able to calculate fast enough to place their bets before the roulette wheel has completed 3 revolutions.

The police were called after the casino launched an investigation and initially the Ritz Casino froze their funds. But the case has been dropped, costing the ritz a tidy sum both due to the winnings and their legal costs.

This has spurred casinos throughout the UK to double check their security. The Ritz Casino had "no comment" to make on the case!
