Roulette can be a game for insiders with all of the terms used for various bets and other rules. First you should know the difference between the American roulette wheel and the European roulette wheel. The American version has 38 slots and includes a 00. The European version is minus the 00 with only 37 slots.

The term "en prison" is a French term for the rule of surrender which allows you to leave the table with part of your wager with you.

If you would like to place a high bet if means that it is an even money bet on any of the numbers between 19 and 36. Subsequently the low bet is an even money bet on any of the numbers between 1 and 18.
Another betting term is "orphans" which is a French term that places a bet on 3 numbers that are neighbors on the wheel, but not connected on the layout.
