In 2005, shoemaker Laszio Kovacs' luck suddenly run out after his fiendishly clever "cheating roulette shoe" was discovered by the powers that be at the Star City Casino in Australia. Great scam.

His invisible roulette tracker, hidden in his shoe, had enabled hime to run a successful roulette scam over  a number of months.

He had hidden a mini pc his shoe with a wireless connection to an earpiece. His brainy shoethen analysed the roulette wheel characteristics, such as the speed of spin, and the numbers that came up. Kovacs started up the mini computer by simply tapping his shoe and use the informartion to make his bets.

Aledgedly, he had won over $200,000 from his smart shoe that got under the radar of the hawk like casino surveillance team at Star City casino roulette wheel.

Belgian and Sydney police assisted a royal commission-style inquiry, known as the European Union Court of First Instance, into large scale casino frauds which they suspect involves shoes allegedly designed by Kovacs. The Sydney shoe is the only one of its kind found so far.

The Hungarian gambler was arrested in Australia. Police found $74,184 in cash and chips on Kovacs' body including $10,000 in his underpants! Shame on you down under, this looks like it was a clever scam!
